Corporate History
M. O. Tourist Co., Ltd. was established in August 1960 in Nihombashi Muromachi, Tokyo with a capital of ¥12.5 million and a small staff of 23. Thanks to your warm support and patronage, it has since enjoyed steady growth for more than 40 years as the following history shows:
| August, 1960 | Mitsuiline Air Service Co., Ltd. was founded with Mitsui Steamship Co., Ltd., Mitsui & Co., Ltd., Mitsui Fudosan, Co., Ltd. as major shareholders. |

| July, 1961 | Absorbed Taiyodo Travel Co. and authorized as IATA Registered Passenger Sales Agent. |
| December, 1961 | Authorized as the Registered International & Domestic Travel Agency (No. 52) approved by the Ministry of Transport. |
| May, 1964 | The company name changed to Mitsui Travel Service Co., Ltd. |
| July, 1964 | Authorized as Money Changer by the Ministry of Finance. |
| March, 1968 | Number of shareholders increased to 17 companies with capital participation of 12 Mitsui group companies. (The Mitsui Trust & Banking Co., Ltd., Tomen Corporation, Mitsui Mining Co., Ltd., Toray Industries, Inc., Mitsui Mining & Smelting Co., Ltd., Mitsui Engineering & Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., Mitsui Petrochemical Industries, Ltd., Mitsui Toatsu Chemicals, Inc., Mitsui Mutual Life Insurance Co., The Japan Steel Works, Ltd., Toshiba Corporation and Toshoku Ltd.) |
| July, 1989 | Amalgamated with Shosen Air Service Co., Ltd., a company established by Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, Ltd., and Sumitomo Corporation as major shareholders to form a company with the new trade name of M. O. Air System, Inc. Its travel division operated under the name of M. O. Tourist. |
| July, 2001 | Two divisions of M.O. Air System, Inc.: international transport business division and travel business division were separated with the travel business division starting independent operation as M.O. Tourist Co., Ltd. |
| August, 2005 | Authorized as a business licensed to use privacy mark (P mark) |
| October, 2005 | Mitsui O.S.K Lines, Ltd. became an exclusive shareholder of our company. |
